Lessons from the NET 🎾
When you play tennis with your regular partner - it's useful to have conversations around your goals and needs during a match. If one players goal is "to win" and the others goal is "to have fun" then there may be trouble on the court! Aligning goals can help with more understanding and compassion during tough matches! And with the needs - some players like intensity of drama to play well and others need sweetness and laughter - and if that isn't discussed then one persons needs may get met while at the same time destroying the others partners game!
It's important to LEARN how your partner likes to get treated and not just assume it's the same way you do!!! My partner and I finished the season 8/3 - not bad for the first time playing together!!! I am putting together a local "Talk Tennis with Tea" to continue these conversations. If you live in L.A. and want to be on the list - please PM me at lovemydoublespartner@iCloud.com
